After several rumors and clues the Zuckerberg company is finally confirming the beta version of Whats App Business the exclusive business messaging platform Whats App is looking to start earning, as we know, day today the messaging company does not get a penny from its more than 1.3 billion active monthly users so it’s time to take advantage of them.
As was seen a few weeks ago Whats App was testing an exclusive business application, currently available only for Android, which would allow companies to contact their customers and be sure that they were talking to said business. Today new details of this platform have been announced and even the deployment of the first companies has begun under this first beta.
Whats App will no longer be free for large corporations
In broad outline, we will have two schemes of this new business service. On the one hand, one dedicated to small businesses or local companies that seek to be in contact with their customers in a simple way. For these, the use of the application and the platform will not cost, although the available tools and information will be under a basic scheme.
On the other hand, we will have a scheme focused on large corporations international companies that will not only seek to communicate with their customers and users. Also, offer tools to confirm purchases, shipments, raise complaints follow up services and even carry out transactions. In this case, the use of the platform will have a monthly cost, which has not been specified.
Matt Idema, COO of WhatsApp, confirmed that the goal of this strategy is to charge large companies in the future. However, they have not yet defined the charging scheme and the final price that will have this new service. In addition, as time goes by and as the platform matures, artificial intelligence bots and transactions with the same app, in the style of We Chat, will be added.
KLM is the first to go to WhatsApp Business
For a few days, WhatsApp started with a pilot profile verification program that after checking their identity is given a green badge next to the name, which means that number belongs to a company. Today as part of this program, the first major company has been announced within this platform: the airline KLM.
KLM is one of the first examples of the potential that WhatsApp Business will have, since the same airline has published a video with details of what can be done from the messaging application, which is managed by 250 customer service agents who grant information and help in real time in 10 different languages.
Through the verified profile of KLM in WhatsApp we will be able to confirm our reservation, receive alerts for check-in, information of additional services, updates of the flight status and we can even request that we send our boarding pass, in case we have lost it and do not want to use it on paper. All this from the same profile in an automated real time available 24 hours a day anywhere in the world.
In the coming days will start to appear new companies with profiles verified in WhatsApp and we will depend on contacting them in case of any query. Since the same WhatsApp has been very clear to mention that, they do not want this to become a platform that prompts SPAM. Therefore, they emphasize that at any moment we can block these companies, which will serve as a report that will help to take action in case of abuse.
