The party planning is an exciting and creative work that allows you to create memorable experiences for others. It can be quite lucrative, especially if you own a party planning business. But before handing out business cards, you must realize that despite the glamor of the final product itself planning involves much hard work, especially when you have employees, and payroll providers in your charge. If you are looking to start your own party planning business, the first step is a well written business plan and well thought out.
Instructions
1
Login to the Business Plan Worksheet U.S. SBA (see References).
2
Ignore the first section, “Executive Summary“. This section will be completed at the end.
3
Define your business in the next section, “Understanding and business vision” in terms of mission statement, vision, goals and objectives, history and principles.
4
Then describe the market in the section “Market Definition”. Examine your competition and the local environment; any social issue, economic or regulatory applicable to party planning. Consider how your party planning services differ comparatively from others and which is the target market for your business. If, for example, you plan to specialize in Quinceanera your target market would be the parents of girls aged 14 years. Who are your competitors and what market share do they have? How is that your business is different from others, and how to attract more parents than your competitors?
5
In the next section explains your products and services. Evita care of all kinds of parties, especially if you have little experience compared to your competitors or if you are the sole proprietor and you have few full-time employees. Develop expertise in certain types of parties, which will improve your reputation and refine the way you do marketing. Branches your business when you get sufficient income from a regular clientele.
6
It then describes how your business will be structured. The key to this section is to identify your network providers. Successful party planners depends on your ability to get your supplies in time. If your location is excellent but the food provider calls you back five minutes before dinner, you have a serious problem. Make a list of local vendors who know, they have good prices and a solid reputation. People of the world need audiovisual, lighting agencies, flower shops, graphic designers, printers and of course, catering companies from other potential suppliers. Be sure to build strong relationships not only with your main suppliers but also with the side, as they can save your event in case of failure of your main suppliers.
7
Determine your sales strategy and marketing. How publicists higher your parties? What through “word of mouth”? How YouTube? Here also must decide how much that will be your cobraras and promotional packages, if any.
8
Tabula startup costs and project costs in the “Financial Management“. Be realistic, especially when using the document to apply for a loan. Find out what your competitors charge and consider economic trends (national and local recessions and layoffs or businesses in the area) they can get to have some impact on your cash flow projections. The loan givers and funders want to be sure you’ve thought of and developed strategies for all possibilities.
9
Return to the “Executive Summary” and summarizes your business plan. Includes only the most relevant points as indicated on the page.
10
Select “Generate Business Plan“. Already have an outline of your business plan party planning.
